Thursday, 12 April 2018

The ECCT through the Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) and its partners: TAITRA 外貿協會 and TUV Rheinland 德國萊因公司 held the 2018 Rail Development and Trend Forum on Wednesday 11 April.
This forum was set as over than 400 billion Taiwan dollars from the Forward Looking Infrastructure Development Programme will be invested in rail, metro and light rail systems. It is thus in all our interests to ensure that this money is well spent.
The safety and the well-functioning electric rail systems were some of the issues that were discussed. Specifically, the speakers from ABB 艾波比, SIEMENS 西門子, TUV Rheinland, Taiwan Railway Administration 台灣鐵路管理局, New Taipei City Rapid Transit Dept. 新北市捷運工程局, CECI 世曦顧問工程 emphasized on the expansion of the railway and metro system, the expertise of the European companies on the security and development issues and eventually the latest digital technology that are about to emerge.
Our special thanks go to Dr Wu Meng-Fen, Chairman of China Engineering Consultants 中華顧問工程司 吳盟分董事長. Thanks also to the 200 participants and the speakers, making this forum very productive and successful.
