The Green Finance Leaders Roundtable Forum 綠色金融領袖圓桌論壇 is to be held on 15 April 2021 at the Grand Hyatt Taipei, 3F Ball Room 1, inviting 120 leaders and executives from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), Executive Yuan, industry and banking sectors to join and share their expertise on green finance and risk management under climate challenge.

Since the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were formulated by the United Nations in 2015, the topic of "green financing" has become a key concern of all countries, as it plays an important role in promoting the green transformation of industry. In addition, climate change risk has risen in prominence in the financial industry in recent years, bringing new operational challenges to the global financial industry, prompting the industry to recognise the importance of environmental sustainability and reform strategies and processes, in order to achieve global carbon emission reduction targets, and move towards a new low-carbon era.

In the light of this, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) introduced and began promoting the "Green Finance Action Plan 2.0", to enhance knowledge of ESG issues and the perception of the risks of climate change in the financial industry, acknowledge the new challenges, and work to provide effective green finance and risk aversion to enterprises and investors.

Organised by the Bankers Association of the Republic of China (BAROC), Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) and the ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI), the "2021 Green Financing CEO Roundtable - climate risk management", will bring together representatives from financial institutions, government and ESG related industry leaders for a roundtable discussion on how to promote green finance and implement a new vision of environmental sustainability.
