ECCT beach cleaning in Kaohsiung

Over 200 members of the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) teamed up representatives of the Kaohsiung City Government and the Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) to clean up a stretch of beach in Kaohsiung. It was the ECCT’s second beach cleaning event this year but the first time in Southern Taiwan. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai and OAC Secretary General Liu Kuo-lieh took part in the beach cleaning activity at Chijin Beach together with officials from the city government and the OAC. The event was arranged by the ECCT’s Southern Taiwan committee.

At the start of the morning, the ECCT CEO, Mayor Chen and Secretary General Liu made opening remarks before they joined other participants in spending the rest of the morning picking up rubbish from the beach. Thanks to their efforts, 230 kilograms of rubbish was collected.

Representing the Southern Taiwan committee at the beach cleaning was Kuo Yi-Chang. ECCT member companies participating included BASF Taiwan, JERA Energy Taiwan, TÜV Rheinland Taiwan, Enercon and Suez NWS.

Accompanying Mayor Chen from the Kaohsiung City Government were Chou Ling-wen, Director of the Tourism Bureau, Chang Jui-hun, Director of the Environmental Protection Bureau and Chen Yi-fang, Secretary-General of the Tourism Bureau. Joining OAC Secretary-General Liu was Huang Hsiang-wen, Director-General of the OAC’s Ocean Conservation Administration.

歐洲在臺商務協會赴高雄淨灘

歐洲在臺商務協會與高雄市政府及海洋委員會合作，號召逾200名會員，參與今年歐洲商會第二次淨灘活動，並在商會南臺灣委員會安排下，首度前往高雄，市長陳其邁及海洋委員會主任秘書劉國列均共襄盛舉，率領市府及委員會官員清理旗津海灘。

商會何飛逸執行長、陳市長、劉主秘在致詞後，和參與者一同在晨間撿拾海灘上的廢棄物，最終清理出230公斤的垃圾。

歐洲商會南臺灣委員會由郭宜昌先生代表，商會參與企業包括BASF Taiwan、JERA Energy Taiwan、TÜV Rheinland Taiwan、Enercon and Suez NWS。

陪同陳市長出席的市府官員，包括觀光局局長周玲妏、環保局局長張瑞琿、觀光局主秘陳依芳，海洋保育署署長黃向文亦陪同海洋委員會主秘參加。
