A total of 256 people, including ECCT members, 73 students from the Taipei European School (TES) and staff from the ECCT secretariat spent the morning hard at work collecting rubbish from the beach at Baisha Bay in New Taipei City. Thanks to their efforts, a total of 708 kilograms of rubbish was removed from the beach.

The beach cleaning event was held once again this year after having to be cancelled last year owing to the pandemic. It was held just a few weeks after World Clean-up Day, which unites millions of volunteers, governments and organisations in 191 countries to tackle the global waste problem and build a sustainable world.
