On 15 April 2014, Mercedes-Benz Taiwan CEO Eckart Mayer, the ECCT Automotive Committee Co-chair and member of ECCT Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) received an interview from ICRT Morning Show, talking about pollution reduction measures, the impact of car emissions, and emission-free mobility- the technology dramatically reduces CO, CO2 & NOx generation.

Eckart believes that zero emission is possible. Mercedes-Benz is one of the pioneers developing alternative propulsion, for example fuel cell vehicles. Last year a major milestone was achieved when 6 leading industrial companies (Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV, Shell & Total) agreed on expansion of hydrogen refueling stations network to 400 in Germany by the year 2023.
