The business units of Liander and Liandon make up the network company Alliander whose staff of around 6,000 are responsible for energy distribution in large areas of the Netherlands. In addition, Alliander has become expert when it comes to complex private energy grids and installations.

Alliander also holds some Germany based activities under its German holding company Alliander A.G. Activities in Germany include grid management and the design and maintenance of public lighting in the City of Berlin.
