TCG Mayor Ko Wen-je meets with ECCT CEO Freddie Hoeglund and Government Liaison Jerry Fong to discuss issues of mutual interest including equal treatment of foreign permanent residents residing in Taipei. Mayor Ke assured that the same rights and privilges offered to Taiwan nationals residing in Taipei will also be offered to alien permanent resident certificate (APRC) holders living in the city.

Other issues discussed included Taiwan’s ambitions to become bilingual by 2030, future plans and improvement for the Taipei MRT, promoting tourism, the MICE industry (meetings, incentives, conferences, Exhibitions), traffic safety and enforcement.

It was also decided that the annual ECCT lunch with the Mayor and the Taipei City Government will be held on 25 March. Further details of this event will be published soon on the ECCT website.
