Taiwan in 2018 announced total 5.5GW of offshore wind capacity to seven developers. Now Taiwan is poised to unveil plans for another 5GW of capacity to be built between 2026 and 2030.  According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), there is  a possibility of even more capacity to be added after 2030.

While Taiwan is proceeding to a prosperous wind energy market, Japan and Korea have released their offshore wind development goals. Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) on 17 Oct. will hold “Wind Energy Forum - Industrial Trend and Development in Global Market," inviting expert speakers from Japan Wind Association, Korean Wind Industry Association, and Ørsted Taiwan to share their insights into the Asia Pacific offshore wind market.

再生能源為全球趨勢，各國政府相繼提出綠電發展藍圖。台灣是亞洲離岸風電的先驅，更是政府「5+2產業創新發展計畫」中重要的一環。台灣西部周邊海域有極佳的風場條件，若能搶得離岸風電的發展先機，可望為台灣風電產業推動大量投資計畫。

「風能產業趨勢及亞洲市場商機論壇」將邀請台、日、韓產官界講者，針對風能產業的趨勢發展，以及亞洲離岸風電市場現況，探討開發商如何輔以政策及整合規劃，協助各國風電產業升級，強健在地建設及產業供應鏈發展。
