[Event Report] Female Leadership Talk on ESG 永續領導女力講座

The ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) organized an event called "2023 Soft Power Flexible Advancement Female Leadership Talk on ESG" in partnership with the National Cheng Kung University. The event showcased 8 accomplished female leaders from various industries and focused on sustainable development and shared ESG stories aimed at stimulating new thinking and encouraging people to collaborate and share greater ESG ideas.


Jennifer Wang, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland (台灣德國萊因董事總經理 王秀雲), boasts over two decades of diverse international experience in sustainability. As the first female managing director of the company, she shared insights on her experiences in organisational restructuring, managing cultural diversity, and fostering innovation within the organisation. In her words, "Reading can change your life. Through education, you can become the person you want to be."


Josephine Lo, Chairman of Nestle Taiwan (台灣雀巢董事長 羅台青) and the first Taiwan-born Chairman in 40 years, attributed the resilience of women to the powerful bond of motherhood. She believes that this energy can drive sustainability advocacy and encourage students to always try to find the best solution to a problem.


Irene Feng, an executive of Fresenius Medical Care (費森尤斯醫藥、腎臟照護執行顧問 馮冬萍 ) - a century-old company and the world's leading provider of kidney dialysis services - shared her personal journey from being a front-line nurse to working in the biotech medical field. She emphasized the importance of leading by example, both at work and in one's personal life, to consistently do the right thing.


Chen Shu-Mei, Director of Tainan City Government's Bureau of Land Administration (臺南市政府地政局局長 陳淑美), discussed her transition from over 20 years in academia to public service, and her desire to give back to society through her acquired knowledge.


NCKU President Su Huey-Jen (成功大學校長 蘇慧貞) asserted that the era of comprehensive intelligence requires constant adaptation to shape the future. She expressed that through signing the "2023 Women's Leadership Sustainability Statement" and supporting women's actions.
