The ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) arranged a meeting in Kaohsiung with the city government's Deputy Mayor Charles Lin and 20 high executives officials from Economic Development Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, Urban Development Bureau, Public Works Bureau, Transportation Bureau, Mass Rapid Transit Bureau, Water Resources Bureau, Marine Bureau, Information Bureau and Information Management Center to discuss green industry development in the Kaohsiung city and how ECCT members can contribute. The meeting followed a Premium Event lunch held on the same day with Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai.

It was attended by representatives from Air Liquide, Atlas Copco, Enercon, EnBW, Enel X, Jera Energy, Northland Power, Signify, Sysgration, TÜV Rheinland, and the International Climate Development Institute (ICDI).

Among other topics discussed at the meeting were European sustainable investment in Kaohsiung, building a green industry zone in Kaohsiung, the development of wind and hydrogen energy, reducing energy consumption in waste water treatment and industrial plants, talent recruitment, the development of local suppliers, and promoting the circular economy in the in the wind energy industry, improving energy efficiency in buildings and the promotion of international standards in the solar industry.
