On 25 Nov, the ECCT’s Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) co-organised the Taiwan Circular Supply Chain and EV/ Lithium-ion Battery Recycling event (台灣循環供應鏈暨電動車鋰電池再利用倡議活動) together with the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB 工業局) , under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). The event marked a continuation of the LCI’s cooperation with the IDB on circular supply chains following the launch of their joint report in 2018 titled “The Path to Resilience: Circular Supply Chain Outlook for Taiwan and Europe”. At the event opening remarks were made by Chou Chung-pin, Secretary General of the IDB (工業局主任秘書 周崇斌) and ECCT CEO Freddie Höglund. Among other topics discussed during the forum was the IDB’s industrial symbiosis programme, including Kaohsiung's new Material & Circular Economy Park, battery reuse and recycling issues.
