While Taiwan is facing continuous growth in both population density and vehicle traffic, municipalities are wondering how to efficiently enhance road safety with new technologies. Our guest speakers at this event will introduce some of the latest technologies such as motorcycle anti-lock braking systems (ABS), in-car connectivity and emergency assistance technology. Among other subjects, they will talk about:

  • The status of road traffic safety globally and in Taiwan
  • Motorcycle ABS: System, functions and benefits
  • Emergency assistance technology, which is already available in more than nine million Ford vehicles globally and will be introduced in Taiwan this year.

About the speakersWilko Block has been a strategic marketing manager of Chassis Systems Control Division for Bosch since 2012. He is responsible for the marketing strategy of two-wheeler safety worldwide. Block joined the Bosch Group as a trainee in the Junior Managers Programme for technical sales in 2009. Since joining, he has participated in several development projects within sales and marketing departments located both in Germany and in Japan. Block completed his studies in industrial engineering and automotive technology at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany.

Ryan McGee has been Senior Manager, Product Development Operations and Launch, Connected Services, Asia Pacific since 1 July 2013. McGee is responsible for developing vehicle connectivity solutions for the Asia Pacific region. He is based in Shanghai, China. Prior to his current position, McGee served as Technical Expert, Vehicle Control Systems in Ford's Research and Advanced Engineering division in Dearborn Michigan, USA. McGee has served in a variety of positions since joining the company in 1998 as a Ford College Graduate in Product Development. This includes serving as a Controls Engineer on Ford's Hybrid Electric Vehicle programmes and as a North American representative in a global engineering project onsite at Volvo in Gothenburg Sweden. McGee received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
