Sustainable tourism is a growing trend which is essential if the global tourism industry is to survive in the long term. In Taiwan, a lot of local suppliers are integrating circular economy concepts, social service and environmental caring with the tourism experience. At this event our speaker from MyTaiwan Tour will introduce the concepts of travelling responsibly and making a positive impact on destinations.
Since 2008, Diageo Taiwan has been actively invested in a number of water conservation activities. This has included planting trees, revitalising clean water wetlands, encouraging friendly farming, integrating agricultural marketing, food farmers and environmental education promotion. For example, this year, Diageo is working with local stakeholders to reintroduce indigenous fish species to Sun Moon Lake in central Taiwan. In 2019 Diageo colleagues and friends assisted in the construction of riverside trails and the maintenance of riverside landscapes. Using advanced ecological engineering methods, the 250-strong team restored the self-purification ability of the stream to restore the natural beauty of the river and surrounding area. Our speaker from Diageo will talk about these and other activities aimed at conserving water resources and restoring the environment to its natural state.
