Achieving a balance between career and family life is more challenging for women given the fact that female fertility reaches a peak at the same time as their early career development. The second in the series of webinars of the ECCT’s Family Friendly Alliance will focus on optimal ways to balance career and family life. Guest speaker Dr Chen Chien-Wen will give a presentation on the topic “Early preparation for both career and family” (超前佈署，人生工作整合計畫) while Dr Wang Chia-Woei will give a wrap up and synopsis of the main issues based on his professional experience. 

The webinar series has been arranged for the purpose of discussing the latest trends and sharing best practices aimed at creating a family friendly environment in Taiwan.

About the speakers

Dr Wang Chia-Woei (王家瑋) is the Superintendent of the Dr Wang Reproductive Fertility Center (王家瑋婦產科診所院長). He attended the School of Medicine at National Taiwan University and is a PhD graduate of the Institute of Clinical Medicine of Taipei Medical University. He was a Resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at National Taiwan University Hospital and an Attending Physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He was previously a Research Scientist at the New York University Medical Center and Deputy Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Taipei Medical University Hospital. He is a Member of Taiwanese Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Dr Chen Chien-Wen (陳芊彣) is currently the Vice Superintendent of the Dr Wang Reproductive Fertility Center (王家瑋婦產科診所醫師). She holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the School of Medicine at National Taiwan University. She was a Resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at National Taiwan University Hospital. Her previous experience includes holding a Fellowship in the Division of Infertility of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Taipei Medical University Hospital. She was an Attending Physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Shuang Ho Hospital, Taipei Medical University. She is a Member of Taiwanese Society for Reproductive Medicine.

The ECCT’s Family Friendly Alliance (FFA) is a platform for collaboration among various stakeholders to address the challenges resulting from Taiwan’s low birth-rate and ageing population. The platform was created in recognition of the fact that Taiwan has one of the world’s the lowest birth rates and rapidly ageing populations, which can only be addressed through partnerships between the relevant private and public organisations.
