The 1985 movie Back to the Future envisioned a world where time travel was possible, adults travelled in flying cars and kids rode hoverboards. More recently, the Matrix trilogy and TRON: Legacy explore the melding of virtual and real worlds in spectacular effects of sound and light.

Today, as virtual reality technology and robotics become ever-more advanced people are imagining living their lives in virtual reality with personalised robots as servants or even companions. Others imagine living in cities in space or under the ocean.

Which of these fantasies will become a reality in the future? What will life be like in 2100?

The ECCT's 2016 Gala Ball invites you to live out your personal fantasy of the future.

As in previous years, this year's ball will include popular and exciting features including: gaming for chocolate euros, make-up counters and the Taiwan Tatler Magazine photo booth to make everyone a celebrity for the night.

With an exceptional line-up of entertainment, music, wining and dining, it promises to be an exciting evening.
