Towards creating a family friendly environment in Taiwan

As part of the mission of the ECCT’s Family Friendly Alliance (FFA) to create a family friendly environment in Taiwan, the FFA has conducted a survey of ECCT members to gauge the opinions of employers and employees on the current environment for raising families and developing talent. This event is the forum to announce the results of the survey, which, among others, will provide insights on the following topics:

• Work-family balance
• Family care situation
• The main causes of the decline in fertility
• Overall satisfaction with family friendly policies of the government and corporations
• Suggestions and practices from the co-chairs and leaders of the FFA

At the event our guest speaker will give a comprehensive summary of the results of the survey to show how employers and employees feel about subjects ranging from the factors affecting the intention to give birth, subsidies and paid parental leave by enterprises, flexible and remote working models and challenges such as finding affordable childcare.

About the Speaker

Amy Hsin is a Senior Director in the Adecco Group. She has over 20 years of experience in HR solution services including recruitment, general staffing, dispatching services, outsourcing, outplacement, office management for a systems integration company and accounting and auditing for a CPA firm. She has studied business at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and INSEAD in Europe and holds a master’s degree in computer science and a BS degree in accounting from the University of Maryland in the USA.

Shih Keh-Her is the Deputy Minister of the National Development Council. He was formerly Director-General, Director and later Deputy Magistrate of the Yunlin County Government (from 2011-2014). In the Executive Yuan, he previously served as a consultant, Deputy Secretary General and Political Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Labor (from 2017-2019). In 2019 he was appointed Deputy Secretary-General in the Office of the President and in 2020 as Senior Secretary in the Office of the President. He holds a degree in political science from National Taiwan University, an MSc in regional and urban planning studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MSc in management from the Imperial College London.

About the FFA

The ECCT’s Family Friendly Alliance (FFA) was established in 2022 as a platform for collaboration among various stakeholders to address the challenges resulting from Taiwan’s low birth-rate and ageing population. Its mission is to cooperate with the government, medical professionals, research institutions, NGOs and other stakeholders to promote solutions to support the development of a healthy and sustainable population, talent, enterprises, and the economy and, ultimately, to create a family friendly environment in Taiwan.

Cost: NT$1,600 for members and NT$2,400 for members' guest(s)

NT$15,000 per table of ten persons for member’s guest(s)

To cancel without penalty, written cancellations must be received 24 hours prior to the event.
