In recent years, as global economic dynamics continue to shift and the wave of supply chain adjustments accelerates, Taiwan’s role on the international stage has become increasingly vital. The Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice (MJIB) is a law enforcement agency with primary missions to protect national security and investigate major crimes, including combating crimes that hinder industrial development, not only by safeguarding fair competition but also further strengthening foreign businesses’ confidence in and support for Taiwan’s business environment.

This event has been arranged to brief ECCT members and guests about the MJIB’s policies, operations, activities and how corporations can report crimes and cooperate with the MOJ and other law enforcement agencies to promote and foster clean governance, business integrity and fair competition. Among other topics, our guest speaker will discuss actions taken to combat corruption, money laundering, corporate espionage, cyber-crime and other economic crimes and offer participants a deeper understanding of the bureau’s role and contributions to creating a business-friendly and internationally competitive environment in Taiwan, while promoting diverse cooperation and sustainable development.

About the speaker

Michael Chen is the Director-General of the Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Justice (MJIB). His previous posts in the MJIB include Director of the National Security Operation Division, Deputy Director of the New Taipei City Field Division, Special Agent in Charge of the Hsinchu County Field Office, Special Agent in Charge of the Zhongshan Field Office of the Taipei City Field Division and Section Chief of the National Security Section of the Taoyuan City Field Division. He holds a BL degree from Tunghai University in Taiwan and is a graduate of the MJIB Academy. 

This event will be conducted in Chinese.
