Technology hiring in Taiwan continues to see more promising employment activity with market buoyancy within software development, online gaming start-ups, app development and other developer-driven sectors.

At the launch event, Mark Tibbatts will introduce the Michael Page Taiwan 2020 Salary Benchmark report, presented in association with the ECCT. This outlook forecasts the regional and domestic recruitment market in 2020 across a full range of sectors including technology, healthcare and digital. The report features insights into employment conditions, key hiring skills in demand, sector trends and benchmarks from employers across Taiwan and the Michael Page senior leadership team.

Figures for the Michael Page Salary Benchmark are derived from the group’s proprietary database, capturing job advertisements and placements from July 2018 to June 2019, and incorporates salary increase projections for 2020. 8,000 data points were collected from the data and network in Taiwan and supplemented with results and insights from other PageGroup studies, such as the Job Applicant Confidence Index. This is further validated against insights from the group’s business leaders’ and recruiters’ interactions with companies and professionals. All salary figures, insights and projections reflect the middle to senior management space within which Michael Page recruits primarily.

About Mark Tibbatts

Mark Tibbatts has been with PageGroup in the UK, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan for over 15 years. Since 2008 he has led the expansion of FTSE-listed PageGroup in Southern China, with additional coverage of Taiwan since the start of 2017. Tibbatts's responsibilities cover offices in Shenzhen (2008), Guangzhou (2011), Taipei (2012) and Chengdu (2019). He leads a team of over 150 people today, including a young and talented group of directors and managers from Mainland China and Taiwan - all hired at entry level and developed organically. He is a credible business leader with a proven track record in launching and expanding successful, profitable and sustainable businesses that stand out in highly competitive and rapidly-evolving markets. He is a well-known and regarded expert in matters related to recruiting and retaining talent and creating winning team cultures in the region.

About Claire Wu

Claire Wu has a total of 10 years technology recruitment experience within large global recruitment firms in Taiwan. Prior to starting her career in recruitment, she also had five years of professional experience in IT project management and sales. Wu joined Michael Page in 2012 and has developed a strong track record of recruiting high-calibre technology professionals for both local and international clients. In 2019 she was promoted to Director and now manages the Taipei office.
