ECCT members and guests are all kindly invited to attend the second Wine Tasting Dinner at La Maison de 22 in 2015 with the theme of Exclusive taste of France: Chateau Pineraie.
Chateau Pineraie is situated in Cahors, an established winemaking area for centuries, and its dominant grape varietal is Malbec in AOC Cahors (Appellation d'Origine Controlee). As a family-owned vineyard, a latin manuscript dating from 1456 shows that the Burc family were already land owners around Cahors at that time. As the 5th generation vigneron, Jean Luc Burc now shares the running of this 50 hectare estate near Puy-l'Eveque with his daughters Anne and Emmanuelle. They produce individual characterful wines from their various vineyard parcels which encompass all the classic terroirs of the region including the renowned terraces of the River Lot.
The estate is carefully managed according to the principles of "lutte raisonnee", namely "controlled cultivation", in considerations of sustainable land use and viticulture.
About the Circus Wine Cellar
The Circus Wine Cellar's wine collections are all French AOC levels primarily selected from independently-owned wineries in regions such as Bordeaux, Burgundy, Languedoc Roussillon etc.
Come and join us to sample some choice wine from Chateau Pineraie and others including one ranking the top place at Wine & Gourmet Taipei Annual Selection in 2014 as well as the fine cuisine prepared by La Maison de 22.
The evening will be hosted by the skilled wine connoisseur Mrs. Connie Kuan,owner and wine advisor of La Maison de 22, Restaurant Tapas House, Circus Wine Cellar, and Wine & Delight.
