ECCT members and guests are kindly invited to attend the 2015 Winter Wine Tasting Dinner at Botega del Vin featuring select wines from prominent wine regions of Italy - Friuli, Veneto and Tuscany.

Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine is celebrating its 90^th anniversary this year. It was founded in Verona in 1925 when the Pasqua brothers started producing Veneto wines. To match our theme, among various collections, the Romeo & Juliet will be a highlight of the evening. In honour of the legendary story of star-crossed lovers, the Pasqua family dedicated a bottle to Verona, the birthplace of Romeo and Juliet. The passion of Romeo & Juliet is told everyday by the visitors leaving signatures under the renowned "Juliet's balcony", inspiring the Pasqua family to create this Passimento collection. This will provide a good introduction to Veneto red wines influenced by dried grapes.

Another highlight will be the grappa, which will be served with the dessert. A fragrant, grape-based marc distillate of Italian origin and a centuries-old Italian passion, the Grappa di Brunello by Tenuta San Giorgio is grown and produced near Siena and made from the varietal Sangiovese grape pomace.

About Botega del Vin

Our venue for the evening, the Botega del Vin, re-opened early this year. The owner comes from Verona and specialises in northern Italian cuisine. He will be preparing sumptuous dishes that best match the wines from northern and central Italy selected for the evening.
