After a lackluster performance in 2016, the global economy is projected to pick up pace in 2017 and 2018, especially in emerging market and developing economies. However, there is a wide dispersion of possible outcomes around the projections. After Brexit and the election of President Trump, will there be more "surprises"?  Will the global economic landscape shift?

In this presentation, our guest speaker will discuss the major impacts and risks in the region. Among other subjects she will address the following:

-Is world economic recovery merely a New Year's wish?

-What are the risks and opportunities for Asia, and Taiwan in particular?

Jackit Wong is the economist for Coface's Asia Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, she is responsible for conducting research on the Asian economies and giving presentations on the region's economic and industrial outlook. She has strong experience in economic and financial market research in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Coface, she was a senior economist at Hang Seng Bank and previously an economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis, where she conducted economic research and published regular and thematic reports on the region. She is a PhD student in Finance at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and holds an MSc in Economics and Econometrics with distinction from the University of Exeter in the UK. She is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
