About the Speakers
Giedrimas Jeglinskas is a nonresident senior fellow at the Transatlantic Security Initiative in the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. He previously served as the assistant secretary general for executive management at NATO. He had overall responsibility for managing NATO headquarters and was the secretary general’s primary advisor for NATO-wide management issues. Jeglinskas led the four hundred-strong executive management division, which is responsible for all the enabling functions of NATO including human resources, infrastructure, information technology, and finance. He also served as chair of the management board at the NATO Defined Contribution Pension Scheme, a 700 million-euro assets under management pension plan.
Before assuming his post at NATO, Jeglinskas served as the deputy minister of defense of Lithuania beginning in 2017 in charge of capability development, defense acquisition, industry, and technology partnerships.
Jeglinskas graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point with a BSc in political science and computer science. He holds an MA in national security studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and an MBA in strategy and finance from the Columbia Business School.
