Transfer pricing (TP) refers to the prices paid or received in transactions between related parties, including those involving tangible goods, intangible assets, services and funds. It is one of the most thorny tax issues facing global companies nowadays with more and more tax judisdictions regarding transfer pricing as an easy way of improperly shifting profits around.
It has been nearly 10 years since the implementation of Taiwan TP regulations and the tax authority has been conducting TP audits for almost eight years. In tandem with the substantial tax revenue generated from audits and rapidly-accumulated experience, the number of cases selected for audits and the intensity of reviews continue to increase. Regardless of company sizes and profitability, facing a TP audit in Taiwan is just a matter of time. So the question is: are you ready?
This special luncheon has been arranged to help members gain a better understand of the intensity of TP audits in Taiwan and how to be better prepared. The special guest speakers from KPMG, Lorene Chen and Rebecca Lee, will walk the audience through the audit process, using a few cases and share their first-hand experience in addressing concerns of all relevant stakeholders. In particular, this lunch will cover the following areas:
- Statistical analyses on the circumstances and outcome of TP audits
- Introduction to the different types of TP audits
- Process and unique approaches of TP special audits
