Introducing the International Fiscal Affairs Department, MoF

In response to the trend of globalization and internationalization, and in line with the reorganization of the Executive Yuan, a new department, the "International Fiscal Affairs Department", under the Ministry of Finance (MoF) was formed on 1 January 2013.  The new department was formed by consolidating the officers who have the relevant expertise from the Tax Agency, the MoF and Taiwan Customs.

Our special guest, the Director General of International Fiscal Affairs Department, MOF, Sung Shiou-Ling will talk to members about the following topics:

Introduction of the main duties of the newly formed department which are related to tax treaties, Customs Mutual Assistance Agreements, customs cooperation, ATA Carnet System, financial cooperation and exchanges, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and World Customs Organization (WCO).

Overview of the organizational structure and the human resources allocation within the department.The cooperation and coordination between the department and other tax units. For example, how the department will liaise with the MoF and the National Tax Administrations for reviewing tax treaty applications.

About the speaker

Sung Hsiu-Ling is an expert in tax administration. Prior to her current position as the Director General of the International Fiscal Affairs Department, MoF, she played an important role as Director, Taxation Agency, MoF. She received her Master's Degree in Public Finance from the National Chengchi University.
