ECCT TAX Committee Lunch
Guest speaker
Lynn Chen, Tax Partner, KPMG
Address: 10 Zhongxiao East Road, Sec. 5, Xinyi District
Taipei, Taiwan MAP
Taxation on cross-border service has always been a complicated and controversial issue. The topic becomes even more challenging when it involves the emerging digital economy.
Taiwan has been following international trends closely in tackling this growing issue in the digital world. The Ministry of Finance recently promulgated the relevant VAT and income tax regime for foreign e- service providers offering services to customers in Taiwan. Besides providing more clarifications on services delivered through various means such as internet downloads, real-time or online intermediary platforms, the new regime also addresses the tax treatments and reporting methods for foreign e-service providers. The new regime will be applicable to income tax and VAT filings starting from 2017.
At this event our guest speaker will provide insights into and opportunities for sharing information on the following subjects:
- Key highlights on the VAT and new income tax regime
- Observations on the current implementation approach adopted by the tax authority
- Sharing of practical issues encountered by industry players
- An open exchange of views and experience with the attendees
