The Taipei European School recently completed a review of its board oversight and management structure, various policies and procedures. Some of these changes are related to accreditation and the funding of the school’s various sections and others concern the board of directors. As part of the ECCT’s ongoing cooperation with TES, the ECCT’s Education committee has arranged a special lunch with TES CEO David Gatley to brief interested members on the latest developments at TES.
In order to ensure that TES fulfills its primary mission to provide education to children of expatriates in Taiwan, priority placement at TES is given to European passports holders and native speakers of English, French or German. In order to maintain quality standards, under CEO David Gatley, class sizes have been reduced. In addition, in order to cater to ever-growing demand for places at TES, in June 2017, a redevelopment of the school’s Yangmingshan secondary campus was begun. The first phase of the redevelopment is expected to be completed in 2019.
At the event, the speaker will give an update on recent developments at TES. Among other subjects his presentation will cover:
- Recent changes in management structure, board, policies and procedures
- An update on construction plans and progress
