The regulatory system for the safety and quality of food, drugs, medical devices and cosmetics is crucial to enhancing public health. Currently quite a few regulatory system changes related to the TFDA are processing that could affect the business environment in Taiwan. Hence, how the regulatory system and administrative efficiency will further improve to ensure the best outcome for residents of Taiwan as well as stimulate foreign investment are matters of deep concern.

At this special event, officials from different divisions under TFDA will accompany Director-General Chiang to interact with members. This will present a great opportunity for members to engage in dialogue with officials from the TFDA, exchange ideas and discuss future projects and potential areas of cooperation between the ECCT and the TFDA.

This event is open to all ECCT members and should be of special interest to members in the Retail & Distribution, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Cosmetics and Healthcare Enhancement committees.

Guest of honour
Chiang Yu-Mei is the Director-General of the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Before assuming her current position, she was the Acting Director-General and Deputy Director-General of the TFDA. Prior to joining the TFDA, she has held several positions in health administration at the Department of Health, the Taipei City Government, as Chief Secretary, Senior Technical Specialist, Division Chief and Section Chief. She has also been a lecturer at Taipei Medical University. DG Chiang received her bachelor's and master's degrees in pharmacy from Taipei Medical University and previously worked as a pharmacist at Taipei City Hospital - Heping Branch.
