Along with the growth of e-commerce and the increasing globalisation of supply chains, logistics is playing an ever-greater role in the management of all types of businesses. As an export-driven and trade-dependent economy, Taiwan requires efficient Customs procedures to keep trade flowing and maintain competitive. How is the Custom's Administration adapting to the changes in global trade and new technology developments?

At this event our guest speaker will share his experience and views on the following:

• An overview and analysis of recent import and export data, indicating trends in customs-related business
• Policies currently being promoted by the Customs Administration, forecasting of cargo information, customs duties and customs import tariffs, multi-country container counters and intelligence actions
• Ongoing efforts to improve border management, deepen international cooperation and promote a single service window
• The status of cooperation between Taiwan and Europe, in areas including anti-fraud measures.

About the speaker
Liao Chao-hsiang(廖超祥) is the Director-General of the Customs Administration under the Ministry of Finance. He has held a number of positions in the Customs Administration. Prior to his current post, he was Deputy Director-General. Previously he worked as Chief Secretary of the Keelung Customs Office, Director of the Department of Collections & Procedures, Deputy Director of the Kaohsiung Customs Office and Director of Keelung Customs. He has extensive experience in customs clearance and management and expert knowledge of the customs business. He holds a master's degree in applied chemistry from the Chinese Culture University.
