In line with its mission and emphasis on sustainability and community engagement following its rebranding from the CSR committee, the ECCT’s Community Engagement (SCE) committee has arranged an exclusive tour and hands-on experience of the Tzu Chi Shuang Ho Recycling and Environmental Educational Center. During the visit, guests will have the chance to explore the centre's facilities and witness the sorting and recycling process first-hand. They will also participate in DIY activities and interact with the centre's personnel to gain a deeper understanding of their mission and impact.
Agenda
09:15-09:30: Arrival (Meeting Point: Gratitude Hall 感恩堂)
09:30-09:40: Opening remarks by George Chang, Deputy CEO, Tzu Chi Foundation 張濟舵先生 慈濟基金會 副執行長
09:40-10:00: Introductory presentation
10:00-11:30: Tour and DIY activities (Visit to Environmental Educational Exhibition + DIY recycling activity)
11:30-12:00: Lunch
Important Notes
- Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis. If the maximum number of participants is reached, a waiting list will be opened. Registration is limited to 6 participants per company.
- Since the Recycling Education Station is a semi-open space and you will be participating in hands-on recycling activities, we suggest wearing comfortable and practical clothing and shoes (sandals or slippers are not recommended), and bringing insect repellent. New gloves will be provided for your use at the venue.
- Shoes must be removed before entering the premises. Tzu Chi will provide shoe bags for your convenience.
- Participants are requested to arrange their own transport to and from the venue. On-site parking is available. Staff will be present to assist you.
- Tzu Chi will provide eco-friendly utensils at the venue, but we also recommend that you bring your own if you have them.
About Tzu Chi
Tzu Chi Foundation was established in 1966 by Dharma Master Cheng Yen on the east coast of Taiwan. Over the years, the foundation has been contributing to better social and community services, medical care, education and humanitarian efforts in Taiwan and around the world. The foundation has volunteers in 50 countries with 502 offices worldwide. The foundation’s recycling efforts began in the year 2000. Since then, it has spread from Taichung to 5,000 stations in 17 countries around the world, with thousands of people involved in collecting waste and sorting them in recycling stations.
