According to the new regulations, wind energy vessel crew members who do not have an Alien Resident Certificates (ARCs) or visas are not allowed to leave vessels while foreign nationals without ARCs are not permitted to enter Taiwan from 19 May until 18 June. Meanwhile, Taiwan maintains the same quarantine requirements for inbound technicians even if they have received Covid-19 vaccinations. In addition, no shows or resignations of Taiwanese crew members will affect the granting of vessel permits. Given the extreme shortage of seafarers, it may not be possible to recruit replacements before a vessel departs the harbour. This webinar has been arranged to discuss and find solutions to some of the most pressing issues currently facing wind energy developers.
Among other topics, the following issues will be discussed during the webinar:
- Solutions for offshore wind employees without ARCs and those planning to arrive while travel restrictions are in place
- The possibility of loosening quarantine requirements for vaccinated technicians
- Crew member requirements
- The possibility of a single contact window to centralise administrative procedures for permits and applications, such as permits for foreign flagged vessels.
