Kaohsiung City Government is working with ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) to promote 2017 Eco-Mobility Wrold Festival and on 7 June 2017 will togther host a kick-off event: iCity iCare Forum – Smart Transportation and Policy Design.

For the past few years, Kaohsiung has put much effort in reducing carbon emissions by increasing the network of public transportation including MRT, light rail, and city bikes. Now the city is going to be the first city in Taiwan to try out the futuristic public transportation vehicles: 1) self-serviced electric car rental, as well as 2) the autonomous driving electric minibus on a trial basis.

The LCI is therefore to support Kaohsiung in sharing the most advanced eco-mobility technologies and solutions. In addition to KHH Mayor Chen Chu's presence, the Forum's highlights include a showcase of autonomous driving minubus and keynote presentations from KHH Transportation Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communitcations (MOTC) and four LCI members:
