Merck Group in Taiwan consists of 4 companies, Merck Ltd., Merck Display Technologies Ltd., Merck Performance Materials Ltd., Co., and SAFC Hitech Taiwan (acquired by Merck in Nov. 2015), employing over 600 employees.

Merck Ltd. operates three business sectors: Life Science, Biopharma, as well as Performance Materials – Pigment & Cosmetic business. Biopharma business is comprised of three main business units: Oncology; Neurodegenerative and Endocrinology diseases; and Fertility therapeutic areas and products. Life Science includes two main businesses: Research and Applied Solutions and Process Solutions. Pigment and Cosmetic business unit provides effective materials for cosmetics, food, plastics, coatings and printing industries.

Merck Performance Materials Ltd., Co. provides high quality photo resist, developers & ancillaries materials, indispensable in the manufacturing of flat panel displays (FPD) and integrated circuits (IC) and devices. The company is comprised of marketing & sales, R&D and manufacturing of electronic materials, including three production plants in Hukou, Hsinchu.   

SAFC Hitech Taiwan is located at the Kaohsiung Science Park in Luzhu, Kaohsiung. The company provides high quality MOCVD Precursors for LED’s and ALD/CVD Precursors for the semiconductor industry.
