LCI New Member: National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) 臺北科技大學
The LCI is pleased to extend our warmest welcome to National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech), the first academic institution member of the LCI.
The Taipei Tech has six colleges which include Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Engineering, Management, Design, and Humanities & Social Science. Its laboratories are maintained with state-of-the-art software, instruments, and equipment and practice-based curricula help students master key technical concepts and skills – all helping ensure that Taipei Tech students are well prepared to transition seamlessly into their ideal future careers.
Taipei Tech was the first university in Taiwan to require internship experience of at least two months prior to graduation, intending to familiarize students with the realities and challenges of workplace environments. Taipei Tech also actively promotes entrepreneurship by offering related courses, experience sharing, startup-funding matchmaking assistance, and startup facility space. Its research and development efforts focus primarily on digital convergence, green energy, electric vehicles, sensor technologies, and innovative design. A clear emphasis on the application has led to the adoption of Taipei Tech innovations and research results in the fields of medical technology, smart-tech, green technology, and cultural-creativity.
Taipei Tech’s extensive list of outstanding alumni includes the current CEOs and presidents of over 10% of Taiwan’s publicly traded and OTC firms. The university’s reputation as an engine of industry and incubator of business innovation is well-founded. Looking ahead, as a centre of practical research, Taipei Tech will continue to develop and deepen its core technology competencies, instil critical proactive-learning and entrepreneurial skills in students, foster a world-class research environment, encourage Taipei Tech educators to expand industry-academia partnerships, secure patents on inventions and innovations, train up new generations of professional leaders, promote Taiwan’s continued industrial development, and lay the groundwork for another, stellar century of achievement.
