Maintaining APRC status made more flexible

The ECCT’s Better Living committee has acknowledged changes to the Immigration Act which allows foreign nationals with permanent residency to maintain their permanent resident status if they have resided in Taiwan for an average of 183 days per year over the most recent five years. This represents a relaxation of the previous requirement that Alien Permanent Residence Certificate (APRC) holders must remain in Taiwan for at least 183 days every year. In addition, the Immigration Act has been amended to extend the application deadline for foreign nationals to change their residence or place of employment to 30 days.
