On 30 July, an ECCT delegation led by ECCT Chairman Giuseppe Izzo met with Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) Director-General Dr. Chang Cheng-yuan and his executive team to discuss mutual collaboration between the TRA and the ECCT members.

Director-General Chang, as an old friend to the ECCT since 2013, expressed his warm welcome to the delegation. DG Chang also accepted the ECCT Chairman Giuseppe Izzo's cordial invitation to speak at the ECCT lunch meeting on 20 August to share his vision and plans for the TRA’s innovation in upgrading services and system for sustainable operation. The both sides had a fruitful exchange on implementing European technologies and low carbon solutions in rail transportation.
