The ECCT held a meeting with Dr Chen Chien-jen, Taiwan's former vice president and currently Distinguished Professor at Academia Sinica. The meeting was attended by ECCT CEO Freddie Höglund; Irene Feng, ECCT Director and Co-chair of the Healthcare Enhancement committee; Irene Ning, member of the Healthcare Enhancement committee, and ECCT staff.

At the meeting, the CEO gave an introduction to the ECCT, after which the delegation exchanged information with Dr Chen and discussed areas for possible future cooperation between the ECCT and Academia Sinica. Among other issues discussed was Taiwan’s successful handling of the coronavirus pandemic and Academia Sinica’s involvement in research towards developing vaccines, treatments and rapid tests for Covid-19.
