ANZCham Taipei – founded in 2005 and growing out of the Australian and New Zealand Business Association (ANZBA) started in 1991 - is uniquely placed to give international visitors and local residents alike connection not only to our close colleagues at the New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office in Taiwan and the Australian Office in Taiwan, but also to Australian and New Zealand Businesses in Taiwan as well as direct entrée to a wide range of connections that stretch way beyond the lucky country and the land of the long white cloud.  Over 20 nationalities are represented in the Chamber with people and companies hailing from Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, The USA, Europe, Asia, and indeed most continents around the world. 

A wide variety of industries are also represented with members from Government, Banking, Automotive, Food stuffs, Beverages, Hotels, Non-Profit and Charity, Research, Airlines, Logistics, Insurance, Shipping and many other industries. The saying goes “I may not know how to do it, but I know a man who does”, and knowing someone who does is definitely one of the strengths of ANZCham Taipei.  

ANZCham Taipei takes a very practical approach to its mission.  ANZCham always looks to provide Members with opportunities for social and business networking that deepens their relationship with Taiwan and the region but at the same time is a flexible and nimble chapter that can respond quickly to particular needs or programs.  Taiwan is a very exciting place to live and has a very dynamic business climate.  It is open to new ideas and is a great location to develop new products, services and link with the region.  The regulation is very friendly to new business and Taiwan is also a great jumping off point for success throughout Asia.  We have noticed over the years that Australians and New Zealanders tend to thrive in Taiwan; be it the entrée of a large bank such as ANZ or a small business man opening up his own bar. We recognize the achievement of professionals in Taiwan with our annual ANZCham business awards; we like to think that their success is at least in part due to the support, connections, and competencies that ANZCham offers its members.   

But its not all about business.  Apart from connecting people for business success we also create a forum through our social events to just kick back and relax and make some new friends; and after all isn’t that the best kind of networking anyway?  The Sundowners monthly get together is a mainstay on the calendars of Internationals and locals alike.  

ANZCham Taipei also believes that success creates responsibility.  Over the last few years we have united our networks for social good running events to support Orphans in Taiwan, earthquake relief “back home”, showcasing things that are intrinsically Aussie and Kiwi - from celebrating National Days, running Melbourne Cup lunches for Charity, and commemorating ANZAC day - and combining this with a real local need.  

ANZCham embraces who we are and at the same time where we are.  We have learnt that you don’t try to overcome the environment, you work with it.  And that has been our key to success - for both the Chamber and our members in Taiwan.
