Established in April 2015, JERA is an equal joint venture of two major Japanese electric companies, TEPCO Fuel & Power Incorporated and Chubu Electric Power Company. JERA is an energy company with global reach that has strength in the entire energy supply chain, from participation in LNG and other fuel resource projects and fuel procurement, through fuel transportation to power generation. JERA participate s in the ownership of power generation assets with a total capacity of over 76 GW and the annual LNG transaction volume of 35MTPA . JERA provides approximately 1/3 of Japan's electricity. JERA's mission is to provide cutting edge solutions to the world's energy issues, by offering energy supply models established in Japan through JERA's global operations to other countries. Toward 2025, with the target of renewable energy capacity 5GW, JERA's energy solutions focus mainly on two businesses: the LNG value chain business and the large scale renewable energy business centred on offshore wind power generation. These businesses are complementary; renewable energy with variable power generation output is complemented by flexible, clean LNG thermal power generation. To further cooperate with Taiwanese company and Taiwanese government, JERA Energy Taiwan Co., Ltd. is established in January 2019. To support Taiwanese government's power generation policy, JERA continues d eveloping renewable energy and clean energy business with a total net capacity of 1.1 GW including Formosa 1 (first commercial scale offshore wind farm in Taiwan, construction completed in 2019), Formosa 2 (under construction), and Formosa 3 (under development). JERA is eager to become the crucial role during Taiwan's Energy Transition period and helps Taiwan become the Green Energy Development Cent re of Asia Pacific region.
