Swancor Renewable Energy (SRE) first involved itself in the development of offshore wind farms in 2012, independently planned and completed the installation of two demonstrative wind turbines of Phase 1 of the first offshore wind farm in Taiwan in 2016, and then cooperated with a consortium of sponsors to complete the construction works of Phase 2. The wind farm went into commercial operation upon completion in 2019. SRE is the leading brand in renewable energy with real-work experiences in Taiwan and in Asia.

 

Swancor Renewable Energy continues to show its passion for green energy by taking the helm of the operation and maintenance of Formosa 1 with the first-ever O&M team established after the inauguration of the wind farm, setting a remarkable milestone for both Taiwan's offshore wind sector and the energy transition of the country.

 

The company, with Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners holding 95% of its shares, has its headquarters sit in the heart of the Taipei City. After the successful launch of Formosa 1 in 2019, it has then moved on to the development and construction of the 376MW Formosa 2.

 

In mid-2021, Swancor Renewable Energy announced the formation of the "Taiwan Team", a partnership with three local suppliers to jointly develop Formosa 4 and Formosa 5, a mega-scale portfolio of offshore wind projects in Miaoli which aims to push forward the progress of Taiwan's energy independence and the localization of the offshore wind supply chain.
