About IKEA Taiwan

IKEA was founded by Mr. Ingvar Kamprad in Sweden in 1943. The company's name is an acronym that consists of his own initials of "IK", "E" indicated Elmtaryd, the name of the farm and "A" indicated Agunnaryd Today, with 70 years of history, IKEA has grown into a well-known global enterprise and the biggest home furnishing retailer. IKEA has 364 stores in 46 countries and more than 150,000 employees worldwide.

IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. Our business idea supports this vision by offering a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. This is the idea at the heart of everything IKEA does, from product development and purchases to how we sell our products in IKEA stores globally. Anybody can make a good-quality product for a high price, or a poor-quality product for a low price. But to make good products at low prices, you need to develop methods that are both cost-effective and innovative. This has been the focus of IKEA since its beginnings in Småland, Sweden maximizing the use of raw materials and production adaptation to meet people's needs and preferences

Since the first IKEA store was opened in Taiwan in 1994, there are IKEA stores located in Taipei, Hsinchuang (New Taipei City), Taoyuan, Taichung and Kaohsiung stores now. We opened Xindian (Taipei) store in May 2019 which is the 6th store in Taiwan.

IKEA Taiwan is a member of the Dairy Farm Group of Companies that also operate IKEA retail stores in Hong Kong and Indonesia.

關於IKEA 宜家家居

來自瑞典的IKEA宜家家居於1943年由一位出生於瑞典小鎮的十七歲少年英格瓦‧坎普拉（Ingvar Kamprad）所創立，目前在全球40多個國家皆有分店，是全球最大的家具家飾連鎖品牌。IKEA品牌名是來自創辦人的姓名Ingvar Kamprad、他生長的農莊名稱Elmtaryd和村落名稱Agunnaryd的開頭字母的組合。

坎普拉先生希望能提供大多數人負擔得起，同時具有好品質與好設計的家具家飾品。為此，IKEA創造了獨特的經營模式，包括了自行設計、全球生產、集中採購與配銷以及在店內有效的銷售方式。IKEA的所有設計都遵循「大眾化設計」原則，在設計之初就需要同時考量形式(外觀設計)、功能、品質、永續發展以及價格這五大要素，透過各種創新思考，將每一個環節的成本降至最低，也因此IKEA才能提供人人負擔的起且具有好品質與好設計的居家用品，為大多數人創造更美好的生活。

IKEA台灣第一家店成立於1994年，目前在台灣共有6家店，分別是內湖店、新莊店、新店店、桃園店、台中店與高雄店，及一家新竹訂購取貨中心。IKEA一直以來為台灣消費者提供「多樣選擇、低價、好品質、設計獨特、功能完備且符合永續發展」的各式家具家飾品；並透過店內展示間、IKEA官網與免費IKEA型錄發送與台灣民眾分享更多居家佈置靈感；同時也致力於貼近台灣民眾的居家生活，以提供最適合台灣家庭的居住空間解決方案，為台灣家庭帶來更美好的生活。
