The LCI is honored to announce the German Institute Taipei (GIT) is the official German representative office in Taiwan. The GIT was established on 1st February 2000 to build stronger bilateral political, economic and cultural relationships with Taiwan.

In autumn 2010, the GIT established the "Team Sustainability (Team Nachhaltigkeit)" which focusses on green energy, energy efficiency as well as energy transition policies and engages in a regular dialogue with many partners in Taiwan, from public to private to NGOs. The Team provides information and consultation and regularly publishes a free newsletter on current developments in the field of renewable energy not only in Taiwan and Germany but also in the whole world.

The GIT participates in conferences and seminars.  It organized the "German and Taiwan Green Energy Policy Forum" in cooperation with Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs on 10th December 2015.  For more information, please go to the GIT website: www.taipei.diplo.de
