The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) committee helps ECCT member companies and industry committees work effectively within the larger community of IP rights holders, the Taiwan government, representatives of the European Commission and individual European country trade offices to improve IPR protection within Taiwan. The committee regularly meets with Taiwan government officials to provide feedback about proposed amendments to IPR laws, the effects of Taiwan policies on European companies doing business in Taiwan, and best practices used elsewhere that could be introduced into Taiwan's IPR protection systems. The committee has a working-level relationship with Taiwan's Ministry of Justice, Judicial Yuan and Intellectual Property Office, and it also regularly coordinates with other IP-related industry organisations and with counterparts from the other European chambers in Asia.
