Taiwan to resume visa-free entry for European countries
Starting from 12 September, Taiwan will resume visa-free entry privileges for multiple countries, including the 26 countries of the European Union’s Schengen Area, as well as the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan's 14 diplomatic allies.
This was announced at a press conference of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Monday as part of the government’s gradual lifting of border restrictions, imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, the weekly cap on arriving travellers will remain at 50,000 for the time being and all arriving travellers will still be required to follow the "3+4" protocol of three days of quarantine and four days of "self-initiated epidemic prevention".
