On 13 January 2016 an ECCT delegation which included CEO Freddie Hoglund and Co-Chairs of the Central Taiwan committee, Jules Chuang, Bart Linssen and Martin Clarke visited Huang Ho-ting, Director of the Taichung City Government's Bureau of Labour Affairs. It was the chamber's first meeting with the bureau. The main purpose of the meeting was to introduce the ECCT's Central Taiwan committee to the director and to invite her to be the guest of honour at a forthcoming committee lunch to be arranged later in the year. In addition, delegates discussed recent amendments to the Labour Standards Law and the city's implementation of the law, including the possibility for a more flexible interpretation of rules on recording working hours and accounting for driving time.
